Beit Midrash - House of Study
Like every Hebrew child, Jesus went through the progression of studying the scriptures. Somewhere between the ages of 6-10, he studied with a group of his peers, kneeling at the feet of the teacher in a “beit sefer" – "house of the book.” When he had memorized the first five books of the Bible and mastered the elementary principles of God’s instructions, he moved on to the “beit Talmud.” Beit Talmud was the “house of learning.” Remember when Jesus’ parents had to search for him and found him in the temple? When the best students were chosen to move to yet another stage in their learning, they entered the “beit midrash” – “house of study,” where you were groomed to one day be a teacher.

We are all encouraged to study the scriptures and to “rightly divide the word of truth.” In this Beit Midrash, we offer some of what we have learned and studied. We hope it will encourage you to pursue the depth of His instructions. As with any form of Bible study, we are also learning and encourage your feedback, comments, and corrections on anything you find here.
