The Triumphant Church was founded
by Pastors Cameron and Anna Simmons in April of 1981.
Known then as the Rhema Faith Center Church, it was
located in Tysons Corner, VA, and established as a non-denominational
church attracting members from the greater Washington,
DC, metropolitan area.
Pastor "Cam" and Anna endowed the
church with an understanding of the simplicity of being
a Christian---studying the Word of God and then obeying
it. Over the years the church was blessed through hosting
many now well-known national and international ministries
who found the Rhema Faith Center to be a welcome place.
The church was the charter member of the Christian Mens
Network birthed by the late Dr. Edwin Louis Cole.
In 1994, the leadership was passed
on to LeRoy and Rita Thompson, the current Senior Pastors,
and the church relocated to the Springfield, VA, area.
While the main emphasis continues to be the preaching,
teaching, and modeling of the Word of God, the Triumphant
Church has expanded its focus on outreach, evangelism,
and missions. It has also concentrated on its vision
of "every member is a minister," and will continue to
raise up ordained pastors, evangelists, and other ministry
gifts.
The Triumphant Church has always enjoyed
a rich diversity of ethnic and geographic membership
with families coming from Arlington, Alexandria, Fredericksburg,
Springfield, Mount Vernon, VA, various Maryland counties,
and Washington, DC. Ultimately the church itself will
expand geographically as well, developing new congregations
in Washington, DC, Prince George's County, MD, and Fredericksburg,
VA. |
