I don't remember the day, time, and location I responded to the Father's call.
But, I do know that He chose me in Christ before the foundation
of the world. I know that it was not religion or works that saved me. It was God's grace and mercy in Christ that did. I was one of the worst sinners. But, now I am a new creature in Yeshua!
I was born
in Detroit, Michigan. When I was 9 years old, my mother, my
siblings, and I moved to the Washington, DC, metropolitan
area where I grew up. I now live in Bowie, MD, with my loving
and faithful husband Michael. (Michael leads the TTC Penn Mar Apartments Outreach in Forestville, MD, and is a member of our Worship Ministry.) We have two beautiful daughters, Kristine
and Kamille Wallace.
I've experienced
diverse religious backgrounds throughout my life. I grew up in a
family of Baptists and African Methodist Episcopalians (AME).
My beloved grandfather, Bishop
George Wilbur Baber, Sr., was a well-known AME clergyman.
Several of my relatives were preachers. Later in my adult life, I became a member of the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses for several years. I also investigated forms of the New Age religion. Then, in 2003,
the Holy Ghost led me to The Triumphant Church where He began to teach me about a relationship with Abba Father in Christ. He exalted me to serve as Deacon
of the Outreach Ministry, a Worship Leader in our Worship Ministry, and as a member of
the Feast Committee.
Yahweh has also made me His recording
artist. Music has always had a special place in my life, but
I didn't grow up singing "in the church." My father was
a jazz musician. I've sung in off-Broadway musicals and with
R&B, funk, and jazz bands. However, in 2002, the Holy
Spirit changed my direction. I recorded my first song about
salvation in Jesus. Ever since then, the Holy Spirit has been
leading and guiding me in how He wants me to reach the lost. |
Two of my favorite
scriptures are:
"Therefore,
I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she
loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.
Then Jesus said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.' " (Luke
7:47-48)
(This is one of my favorite scriptures, because I'm the "her." I was one of the worst sinners saved by God's grace in Christ.)
"Here is a
trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus
came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the
worst." (1Timothy 1:15)
The same way that
I obeyed my flesh, I want to obey the Spirit of Christ in
me. Obeying Jesus is loving Him and the Father. I desire that my life be
a reflection of this. |
