He is a much sought-after national and international conference speaker, award-winning author, radio, and television personality. His book, Mastering the Challenges of Change, published by the American Management Association, received a Newberry Book Award in 1995.
LeRoy was educated at Harvard University where he received a Bachelor's degree in English and American Literature and Language, and a Master's degree in Finance and International Business from Columbia University School of Business. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Divinity in Biblical Studies from Master's International School of Divinity, Evansville, IN. He will receive his PhD in Biblical Studies in 2011 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary and has done Talmudic and Torah studies at Yeshivat Har Etzion (Israel).
LeRoy is one of twenty local Fairfax County ministers to be selected as the inaugural candidates to be trained and nationally certified as Community Chaplains. He has been certified in Critical Incident Stress Management, Pastoral Counseling Intervention and the National Incident Management System by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
LeRoy and Rita have been married for 27 years and have adult children, LeRoy Thompson (Lee) III and Aisha Renee. |
