Rev. Dr. LeRoy Thompson is the Senior Pastor of the Triumphant Church. His emphasis is the inspired teaching of the word of God to assist believers in understanding and applying the power of salvation through Jesus Christ. He is actively involved in guiding the Triumphant Church Outreach Ministry (TCOM) in support if its vision of reaching out to the lost in every corner of the world and across lines of race, class, and culture.

Prior to becoming the Senior Pastor, LeRoy has served in many capacities throughout his tenure with the church. He and his wife Rita, also Senior Pastor, have led the Helps Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and have taught Bible classes on topics ranging from stewardship to establishing a godly marriage. They have served as missionaries in Kenya, Uganda, Mexico, and Haiti.

He is a much sought-after national and international conference speaker, award-winning author, radio, and television personality. His book, Mastering the Challenges of Change, published by the American Management Association, received a Newberry Book Award in 1995.

LeRoy was educated at Harvard University where he received a Bachelor's degree in English and American Literature and Language, and a Master's degree in Finance and International Business from Columbia University School of Business. In 2006, he received his Doctor of Divinity in Biblical Studies from Master's International School of Divinity, Evansville, IN. He will receive his PhD in Biblical Studies in 2011 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity Seminary and has done Talmudic and Torah studies at Yeshivat Har Etzion (Israel).

LeRoy is one of twenty local Fairfax County ministers to be selected as the inaugural candidates to be trained and nationally certified as Community Chaplains. He has been certified in Critical Incident Stress Management, Pastoral Counseling Intervention and the National Incident Management System by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

LeRoy and Rita have been married for 27 years and have adult children, LeRoy Thompson (Lee) III and Aisha Renee.
